A New Year in the LibraryA welcoming warmth is essential in our School Libraries as they are the backbone to our Literacy program. Instilling the desire to learn reading skills should never end. High school Libraries must continue to be inviting for all types of learners. They should maintain the push for ever improving literacy skills for all subjects in order to create a life-long learning environment for students to carry with them past graduation.
Here at MPHS we supply time, equipment and assistance along with over 8,000 Non-fiction / fiction books and other resources. If you have suggestions, please submit them on the next page. Meanwhile, grab a good book and enjoy. |

Is a Library just a room of books?
That's almost like asking if the Declaration of Independence was just the minutes from a meeting. The answer is a resounding NO! It is so much more. [ you have read it, haven't you?]
Libraries are made for sharing information. That means sometimes it is silent for serious contemplation and study and sometimes rowdy with celebration. We must remember to pay attention to the others around us to judge the proper behavior for the hour. When in doubt, whisper! Silence, they say, is golden.
Normal procedures are posted for use of class areas, books, audio recordings, videos, computers and other equipment.
Special information for projects and club meetings can be found on the webpage.
